Join Madison Audubon to count Chimney Swifts!
There have been hundreds of swifts using the chimney at Cherokee Middle School. We'll be counting on Friday, September 9, at 6:30 pm, with a rain date of Saturday, September 10.
“A Swift Night Out” is a continent-wide effort to raise awareness about chimney swifts. Bring a lawn chair and binoculars to count the swifts as they congregate at communal roosts before their fall migration.
For more information, visit the Wisconsin Chimney Swift Working Group website.
Please note: The swifts have been known to change their preference for their nightly roost location! Any last-minute changes in the location of the trip will be posted on this web calendar and on our Facebook page. If you're unsure of details or need more information, your best bet is to contact Sandy Schwab at (608) 658-4139, or sschwab49@gmail.com.
