Volunteer opportunities abound with Southern Wisconsin Bird Alliance
We share a love for birds; do you have time to share to protect them? Southern Wisconsin Bird Alliance (SoWBA) is a small—but mighty!—nonprofit which was 100% volunteer-run until the early 2010s. Your help makes a huge difference in achieving our shared vision: protecting birds, restoring habitat, and inspiring kids and community members.
Whether you want to help with a project, drop in for a pre-scheduled volunteer event, or something else, we appreciate your time and look forward to working with you!

Sew a bird
Enjoy sewing and want to help with bird outreach? We have a great project for you! We need a whole bunch of these bird bodies sewn up so community members can decorate them. Then, the birds will be shipped to Chicago for the “Bird Collisions in the Anthropocene” project. Template for sewing is provided. Done in partnership with SOS Save Our Songbirds.

Southern Wisconsin Bird Alliance has some of the largest restored prairies in Wisconsin. Our Faville Grove Sanctuary, located just north of Lake Mills, is a major part of SoWBA's restoration efforts... but our restoration work is only possible with the help of volunteers!
Seed collecting at Faville Grove Sanctuary is held Sept. 2-Nov. 4, Wednesdays from 9:30am-12:00pm and Saturdays from 9:30am-12:00pm and 1:30-4:00pm. Saturday participants can choose to join the morning, or afternoon, or both sessions.
