Date: Friday, June 2, 2017
Location: 909 Sequoia Trail, Madison WI
8:45 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. or 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Number of volunteers needed: 6 in the morning and 6 in the afternoon
Come join us for a day of birdy fun at Lincoln Elementary! This will be the fourth year that Madison Audubon provides a school-wide Birdathon for Lincoln students, and volunteers are a huge part of this event. You’ll be working with kids in kindergarten through grade 5.
MAS will provide several outdoor lessons that classes can sign up for, including bird walks with binoculars, fur & skull exploration, and games like habitat scramble, migration obstacle course, and bird beak buffet. We need volunteers to independently teach one lesson several times throughout the day. MAS will provide all of the training you need- just bring your enthusiasm! Teachers will be joining children at lessons to manage the class and keep kids engaged.
We’re hoping for about 6 volunteers for the morning (8:45 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.) and 6 for the afternoon (1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.) You can choose which lesson you would like to teach!
** MAS can provide some transportation between campus and the event location**
