Wild Parsnip Attack Party @ Goose Pond

Please come help us dig parsnips in Wood Family Prairie and UW-Farms Agricultural Prairie Remnant this Friday, June 23rd!  Come anytime after 8:00 am, and stay as long as you like until the end of our work day at 4:30.  We will take a lunch break at noon, feel free to bring your own and join us!  Our prairie partners interns and regular Goose Pond staff will all be working together to get this extremely abundant, aggressive invasive under control at these two sites.  We need a lot of hands to get this plant under control!

If you are able to come, please contact Maddie (mdumas@madisonaudubon.org or 612-227-7671).  If you have your own shovel, please bring it.  Required clothing are long pants, long sleeves, sturdy shoes, and gloves.  Also recommended are hats, sunglasses and sunscreen.  Remember that wild parsnip can cause rashes and burns when it touches bare skin that is then exposed to the sun's UV rays!

We hope to see you out here, thanks for your support of Goose Pond Sanctuary.
