Seed Collecting at Faville Grove

  • Faville Grove Sanctuary W7480 Prairie Lane Lake Mills, WI, 53551 United States (map)

Madison Audubon Society has some of the largest restored prairies in Wisconsin. Our Faville Grove Sanctuary, located near Lake Mills, is a major part of Madison Audubon's restoration efforts...but our restoration work is only possible with the help of volunteers!

Volunteers are needed to help collect prairie seed. Native seed collection saves the genetics of plants that thrive in our local ecosystem, and are then used to restore other areas.

No experience is needed, and families are welcome! Please wear long pants and sturdy shoes. Volunteers will meet at the kiosk on Prairie Lane off of Highway G.

Seed collecting is done Saturdays 9:30am-12:00pm AND/OR 1:30-4:00pm (choose one or both!), and Wednesdays 9:30am-12:00pm.
