Fair Meadows Sanctuary is Madison Audubon’s newest sanctuary! Join us for a special opportunity to explore Fair Meadows, which is normally closed to the public, during our Open House Days. On September 14-16 between 7am and 7pm, we will have a Madison Audubon staff person on site to welcome you, give you a map, suggest a few hiking trails to explore independently, and answer your questions.
Fair Meadows is a gorgeous, 374-acre property near Milton, Wisconsin that has been carefully restored to native landscapes. It was established as a State Natural Area in 2005 and became a Madison Audubon sanctuary in 2023. The property includes diverse habitats, such as oak woodland/savanna, wet prairie, sedge meadow, open marsh and a spring complex.
Please note that Fair Meadows Sanctuary is closed for general public access on all other days. Any other entry must be pre-arranged with Madison Audubon.
