Madison Audubon Society has some of the largest restored prairies in Wisconsin. Our Faville Grove Sanctuary, located near Lake Mills, is a major part of Madison Audubon's restoration efforts... but our restoration work is only possible with the help of volunteers!
Volunteers are needed to help collect prairie seed. Native seed collection saves the genetics of plants that thrive in our local ecosystem, and are then used to restore other areas.
No experience is needed! Please wear long pants, sturdy shoes, and bring water to drink. Volunteers will meet at the Faville Grove Sanctuary kiosk at W7480 Prairie Lane, Lake Mills.
Seed collecting is done Saturdays 9:30am-12:00pm and Wednesdays 9:30am-12:00pm.
Contact the Faville Grove Land Steward at faville@madisonaudubon.org with questions.
