This is the Reckless Wrens’ 12th year participating in the Great Wisconsin Birdathon. Our team visited 21 locations, submitted 28 eBird checklists, and detected a total of 143 species!

The Great Wisconsin Birdathon is run by the Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin to raise funds for bird conservation across the state. Southern Wisconsin Bird Alliance’s team, the Flockadelics, participated on May 1.

Madison Audubon’s Reckless Wrens team participated in our 11th Great Wisconsin Birdathon. Our 12 birders set two records: 146 species observed and $2,843 raised to date!

It’s hard to believe that the Reckless Wrens have been birding for 10 years. I heard about the Great Wisconsin Birdathon its very first year, and we’ve been doing this every year because it’s fun! It is also a wonderful way to raise money for Madison Audubon and the Bird Protection Fund.
