Madison Audubon has some of the largest restored prairies in Wisconsin. Our Faville Grove Sanctuary, located near Lake Mills, is a major part of Madison Audubon's restoration efforts... but our restoration work is only possible with the help of volunteers!
Volunteers are needed to help collect prairie seed. Native seed collection saves the genetics of plants that thrive in our local ecosystem, and are then used to restore other areas.
No experience is needed, and families are welcome! Please wear long pants, sturdy shoes, and bring your mask. Volunteers will meet at the kiosk on Prairie Lane off of Highway G and maintain social distancing.
Seed collecting is done Saturdays 9:30am-12:00pm AND/OR 1:30-4:00pm (choose one or both!), and Wednesdays 9:30am-12:00pm, Sept. 7-Oct. 29. Join in as often as you can and like!
To join in, contact Drew Harry, Faville Grove Land Steward, at (262) 210-6409 or email him at faville@madisonaudubon.org. RSVP is not required but helpful, especially if we need to cancel due to weather. Please wear long pants, sturdy shoes, and bring gloves if you have them.
