Tour the Birds in Art Exhibit (Wausau)

  • Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum 700 North 12th Street Wausau, WI, 54403 United States (map)

The annual Birds in Art exhibit at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum in Wausau is a popular, long-standing, seasonal art exhibition that features paintings, sculptures and works on paper themed around birds. Each year offers a different selection of artworks, and this year’s collection is getting extra-rave reviews!

This day-long group visit will start with meeting at Dutch Mill Park & Ride for Madison-area residents at 7:45 AM. We will carpool in multiple vehicles to the museum (approx. 2 hour drive), and get a private, 1-hour, docent-led tour of the museum. After that, you will be able to explore the museum at your leisure until 3:00 PM when the group will drive back to Madison. The museum includes a permanent collection, temporary exhibits, and an outdoor sculpture garden. It also includes a window treatment to prevent bird-window collisions which you can check out.

Admission to the museum is free. There is no on-site cafe or restaurant within walking distance, so you will be responsible for bringing your own lunch. We can eat in one of the museum’s classrooms.

Registration will open first to SoWBA members. Any remaining spots will open to the public on December 1.
