There are two Porch Prairie workshops on May 8, come to one or the other!
1. At Holy Wisdom Monastery, 1:30-3:00 PM
or
2. At Olbrich Botanical Gardens, 6:00-7:30 PM
Build a 5-plant native garden for your balcony, patio or porch to bolster birds, bees and butterflies!

Join Eric Manges of Eric Manges Nature, SOS Save Our Songbirds, and Southern Wisconsin Bird Alliance for a presentation about growing native plants in any location — including a small balcony or front porch — and how that container of native plants can support wildlife.
Then, head outside for a hands-on activity of planting your own container to take home, each container having five native plants great for pollinators (exact species will be determined a few weeks before the event.
No yard? No problem! This event is designed for individuals who want to help wildlife from their balcony or porch. Have a yard? That’s great! You’re welcome and invited to participate too!
The presentation, plants, and potting soil are included in the cost of the workshop. You can bring your own container (#5 size, which is approx. 11” wide and 11” tall) or pay $5 for us to provide a container for you (shown here).
This event is sponsored by: SOS Save Our Songbirds, Southern Wisconsin Bird Alliance, Eric Manges Nature.
