“A Little Birdie Told Me… Origin, Myth, & Science behind Bird-themed Language”

Access the YouTube recording of this presentation here: https://youtu.be/3_vROQaaX9c

This is a public presentation you can attend from home! Hosted on Madison Audubon’s Facebook page on Wednesday, April 1, 7:00 pm. The presentation will also be recorded and viewable afterwards on Facebook and YouTube.

“Bird-brained”, “As the crow flies”, “Eat like a bird”, “Lay an egg”. All of these bird-themed phrases are commonly heard in the English language. Where do they come from and do they describe the real lives of birds? Dr. Matt Reetz, Madison Audubon executive director, will provide a multi-media review of some of these common phrases to describe their origin, how they relate (or don’t!) to the actual science of our feathered friends.
