Join us to get a sneak-peak of the results from the Madison-area Christmas Bird Count! The Christmas Bird Count, held annually throughout North America between mid-December and early-January, works to take a snapshot of which bird species are found where during the winter season. Madison Audubon coordinates the Madison-area CBC each year, with help from hundreds of awesome volunteers.
At the End-of-day Tally Party, we’ll go through all of the bird species on our list and track if birders saw that species on December 17’s CBC. By the end of the tally, we’ll have a tentative total of species documented for the event.
In addition to the bird-nerd fun, we’ll also have food, beverages, and socializing for folks to enjoy. Whether you’re birding during the Christmas Bird Count or just curious about what was found throughout the day, please join in! This event is open to everyone, and is family friendly.
