PRESENTATION: The Problem with Birds and Windows

  • UW-Madison Arboretum 1207 Seminole Highway Madison, WI, 53711 United States (map)

This presentation is hosted by the Friends of the Arboretum

Up to a billion birds die every year in the US after hitting windows, and almost half of those happen at homes. The good news is that the solutions are easy and affordable! This seminar will share some science behind why birds hit windows, how a local citizen science group is studying the problem and provide recommendations on ways to address problem windows at home to make them more bird-safe.

This presentation is given by Brenna Marsicek, Director of Outreach with Southern Wisconsin Bird Alliance and coordinator of the Bird Collision Corps.

Luncheon-Lectures are held in the Arboretum Visitor Center Auditorium. A buffet lunch is followed by the educational presentation.

Registration costs $45/person which includes lunch. Registration closes March 31, 2025.
