In the harrier is a splendid symmetry with its environment. Its adaptations are remarkable, a physiology and suite of traits harnessed for the grassland and marshland habitat.
These four once-fuzzy, gray Northern Harrier chicks left their nest in Browne Prairie on approximately August 1, and have begun to explore the surrounding areas.
After helping band young kestrels last Friday, the Goose Pond summer crew conducted a silphium borer moth survey in Hopkins Road Prairie. During the survey, they not only found evidence of the rare moth, but also discovered a northern harrier nest!
