Fall 2022 Bird Collision Corps
September 12 - November 1, locations vary
Up to 1 billion birds die each year in the US alone after hitting windows. The Bird Collision Corps is a group of volunteers in the Madison area who survey 1-3 buildings each week between Sept. 12 and Nov. 1. Volunteers look for and document evidence of bird-window collisions on these surveys. Everyone receives training, supplies, and support! Learn more here.
The data collected through this program is used to help better understand the problem in our area, inform policy and practices, and guide building owners and homeowners in making improvements to their own windows.
This fall (Sept. 12-Nov. 1), we are thrilled to work with 10 site partners for our Bird Collision Corps program! We need volunteers at each of these sites. Please join us for this important work and make southern Wisconsin safer for birds.
We would love your help! Volunteer today!
