Birdathon: Fair Meadowlarks

  • Fair Meadows State Natural Area Milton, WI (map)

At Madison Audubon, we believe in bringing the JOY of birds to everyone.

North America has lost over 3 billion birds since the 1970s, but Madison Audubon works to protect birds and the natural landscapes they need to migrate, nest, and survive.

Everything we do is for birds and the people who love them.

The Fair Meadowlarks Birdathon team comprises members of Madison Audubon staff and board. We'll hold our Birdathon on May 23 at Fair Meadows State Natural area (with permission and participation from the landowners since the area is closed to the public). We are excited to explore the grasslands, woodlands, wetlands, and everything in between at Fair Meadows, and see/hear which birds we can find!

By donating to Madison Audubon's Fair Meadowlarks team, you're supporting Madison Audubon, the lands we own and manage (we're an accredited land trust!), education programming for kids, advocacy, citizen science, field trips, and more. 50% of your donation also goes to the Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin's Bird Protection Fund, which funds bird conservation projects statewide.

You can donate to the Fair Meadowlarks team or to any individual members of the team with a Birdathon page. It all counts toward our team total. Team members include: Becky Abel (captain), Matt Reetz, Kaitlin Svabek, Mickenzee Okon, Brenna Marsicek, Carolyn Byers, Penny and Gary Shackelford, Matt Krueger, and Lisa Lepeak.

Our team would really appreciate your support. Madison Audubon believes that the joy and inspiration of birds should be for EVERYONE.

No donation for birds is too small.

Yay Birds! and Yay YOU!
