Madison Lakes Waterfowl

As winter sets in, smaller ponds and lakes in south-central Wisconsin freeze, causing migrating birds to become concentrated on Madison’s large lakes, which remain open longer. We will look for waterfowl, gulls, and winter birds. This trip has produced some unusual sightings in the past, including Red-throated Loons, so don’t miss it!

Brush Cutting Party at Faville Grove

Winter may give the impression of rest on the prairie, but we continue our hard work to restore and maintain the prairie landscape at Faville Grove! Join us for brush cutting parties each Wednesday in February as well as February 18 and 25 (Saturdays) as we hack away at buckthorn, boxelder, and other invasive shrubs that encroach on the prairie.

Contact Drew Harry, Faville Grove Land Steward, at faville@madisonaudubon.org or 262-210-6409 to find where the group will meet each week.
