Spring in the Baraboo Hills: Pan Hollow

  • Denzer United Methodist Church parking lot S8284A Denzer Road North Freedom, WI, 53951 United States (map)

Another in this series of annual spring field trips to the Baraboo Hills, this one features a long, shallow stream gorge in the heart of a large forested block, rarely visited by the public. We can expect Louisiana Waterthrushes, the usual early forest migrants, spring ephemerals, and a wildness characteristic of this unique landform. We'll be off-trail so bring sturdy footwear and dress for the weather. The ground may be damp.
