We’re sorry this event is canceled due to concerns around COVID-19. Please tune into the online event on Aug 28 instead!
At summer's end, hundreds of chimney swifts use brick chimneys for their nightly roost as they prepare for migration. "A Swift Night Out" is a continent-wide effort to raise awareness about chimney swifts and their need for roosting habitat.
This year, due to high popularity of this fabulous event, we are hosting TWO Swift Nights Out! This is the East Side event; check out the West Side event here.
Bring a lawn chair and binoculars to observe and count swifts as they gather at communal roosts before fall migration to South America.
Note: Swifts have been known to change their preference for chimneys, so we will post the location of the event shortly before the event date — when we know the swifts will be there!
